We were soooooo intending to go to church, I swear.

But we didn't.  Samuel fell asleep yesterday afternoon just before 4pm and slept.through.the.night.  My goodness, was he ever tired.  He did wake up briefly at about 10pm to a diaper change, and I tried my hardest to get him to eat but he wasn't interested.  He hasn't made up for it much today, either.  Some oranges, a bit of chicken, a fried egg...that's about it so far.

Anyway, I was so tired I just passed out while reading and eating gummies in bed.  David woke me at about 8:30 to ask if I wanted tea and to go to church, and I agreed on principle that we should go.  Then I fell asleep again thinking about it.  When I finally eased myself off the mattress it took forever to find an outfit that fit.  I'm really cutting it to the wire with clothing this time around.

But then I threw up and Sam had a meltdown and I took one look at David's exhausted face and said "let's just not go."  and so we didn't.  And we didn't feel guilty about it either.  I fact, David got called in to work an hour earlier than expected so the extra time in the morning meant that he was able to sleep some more, and also that he could help with the difficult 'winding down to nap time' period that Samuel is going through right now.  Lots of screaming, lots of hiding under the dining room table to poop, lots of flailing temper tantrums.

Anyway, he's having another tantrum.  Another one.  Good Lord.  And I'd better go save my saintly husband.
