I found out today that, due to budget cuts, the hospital will now no longer be providing new mothers with snacks or beverages during labour or post partum sanitary supplies afterwards. They have also decided to stop providing receiving blankets, clothing for new infants, and diapers. I have to bring my own diapers to the hospital.
This is seriously going to cramp my packing style. I'm never going to manage just a duffle bag now.

Soooo.....are you just meant to bleed all over their sheets and beds if you don't bring enough pads?
Everything I read today is making me sadder and sadder.
Are you serious? Don't they charge us for that kind of thing? Are they going to give birthing mothers a discount?
Geez. What are you paying for if you have to bring all your own stuff????? Better bring your own advil just in case!
Ah. Well, I'm a Canadian, you see...so although I suppose I AM paying for my medical care in a roundabout sort of way, I'm going in and coming out without a bill to pay. Unfortunately this means I can't raise much of a stink, either!
