Our train leaves tomorrow at 2:30pm and, after some consideration, I'll be glad to board it.  After all, you can't go home, no matter how much you may try to.  Neither David or I can believe it's been a week already.  We arrived on Monday and I feel as though we never stopped for a moment.

Monday - plane lands and we get in the house around 9:30pm so exhausted we all fall asleep partially clothed.

Tuesday - Spend the morning with my friend Amanda  and our babies battling the Ottawa bus system and trying to figure out how to use my loaner cell phone.  Buy some diapers, do some much needed shopping and home by 2:30 in time to re-pack the diaper bag and head out shopping with my mother.  Back for dinner.  Call my grandmother, Nan, to plane a time to see her.  Fall into bed exhausted.

Wednesday - Spend 4.5 hours with Nan visiting and having lunch.  Book time with our friends the Hannas to see them for dinner the next night.  Out for supper with Amanda and for a quick visit at a few shops on the way home.

Thursday - Head to the other side of town to see my sister for a few hours and wander the Bayshore Mall.  Buy a few thank you gifts.  Dinner with the Hannas.

Friday - Out of the house early to spend the day with David's family, having lunch, letting Samuel play with his cousin and heading out to the Ottawa experimental farm to visit the brand new baby farm animals. Dinner with David's family and home by about 8.

Saturday - Spend a few hours in the morning seeing Amanda.  The afternoon with David's family at a giant indoor amusement park called Cosmic Adventures where Samuel had a fit over the giant pit-o-balls.  Home early enough to cook a special 'thank you for hosting us' dinner of lemon rice and chicken Marbella for my parents.

Sunday - Up early for church.  After church have lunch with the minister and his family at the Newport Restaurant (home of the Elvis Sighting Society, it seemed appropriate to visit a place where the 'King' lives!) to devour chicken tandoori pizza and too much spinach dip while discussing the perils of ignoring trinitarian doctrine.  Take several hours to get home.  Have a 'thank you for coming to stay with us dinner' from my parents.

Monday - Everybody bathes, packs, gets laundry done and leaves in plenty of time to catch the train at 2:30.

I wish we had had more time, but at the same time, I think we got to see the people who mattered the most.  It would have been nice to go to Rev'd Hanna's Presbyterian church that we've never visited, and to see their daughter and new grandson.  I would have liked to visit David's aunts and uncles in town, and to take a day trip up to my family cottage.  And it would have been amazing if we could have managed a few days in Toronto as a side trip, seeing our old church family there as well as friends who live around the city.  But, ultimately, we're happy with how the trip went. I'll upload pictures soon.
