Toad in the Hole

This is a meal my English grandmother used to make her family for supper, and which my mother made me and I now make my family.

And because no one does British comfort food better than Nigella Lawson, here's her version (though I say skip the whole make-patties-out-of-the-sausages part of the recipe).
