More ministry news

I feel as though everything about David's call to ministry is moving so quickly.  Tonight we got a phone call from our pastor to tell us that he had just spoken to the liaison for the DBMD (The District Board of Ministerial Development) who will be responsible for monitoring David as he moves towards ordination.  They're our watchdogs, keeping us on track and at the same time making the path a little smoother for us.  Our pastor wanted to let us know that the DBMD would be in town on the 17th and 18th of March, and could meet with David then, rather than in the Spring as previously discussed.  This is good, because obviously the quicker these things move the better, but it's also a little stressful.  We thought we had weeks to arrange for our paperwork to arrive in their hands and now we have only a few days.  And yet, things are all coming together despite the tight deadlines and the difficult situations.  There is a peace about it all; we have waited so long for these things to happen to us as we've watched our friends move forward in their lives.  Not that, by any stretch of the imagination, we feel that life has 'passed us by'.  Far from it; we have a wonderful son, jobs for us both, a home and healthy pets.  We've been blessed, and we've worked hard, but somehow there has always been a small hole there.  The space that comes from knowing that your purpose is not fulfilled.  That God still has space in your life to say "Get up and eat, else the journey will be too great."  There is still that journey to be made, but these first steps of ours are a little tentative.

I feel as though we both need to come boldly to the throne of God!  Boldly!  As a child of the king!  Striding up to the Lord and declaring ourselves.  Here I am, use me.  We cannot come meekly, cowering, whimpering in the corner and leaning on our own understanding.  The One who made the universe, everything (can you imagine?) also, beyond our capability to understand, made us, made our path, and set our feet on it.  How wonderful, how marvelous, how awe-inspiring is it that our days, marked before we were born, brought us here, to the place we most prayed to be.

Hallelujah.
