There's a storm a-comin' my way, or so The Weather Network tells me. Sometime today 15-30cm of snow is going to fall on us, and I'm battening down the hatches.
I spent the morning cleaning the livingroom, making soup and turkey barbecue and starting to deal with the stuff that I mentioned in last Friday's 7 Quick Takes. Since David so kindly brought me home a couple of giant plastic storage bins with lids (2 for $10 at the hardware store!) I figured that the first thing on that list was going to be baby clothes sorting.
It really only took about an hour, but was surprisingly difficult to do. I felt an emotional attachment to simply everything, even clothes that Samuel had never worn! But it's done now; anything stained or impractical or made with rough-feeling cloth is in a pile to become rags or someone else's riches via the Salvation Army clothing drop-off. Even so I filled one giant container to the brim, and I haven't even started to go through the clothes in his drawers that are starting to get snug. On the other hand, and on a much more positive note, I'm now two worn-out cardboard boxes lighter.
Time to take a break, just in time for David to come home, to have a cup of tea and read my new library book, Welcome To Higby by Mark Dunn. Maybe have some of that turkey barbecue.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I was definitely the same way with Paul's clothes, especially the first time I had to put some away. I was sad to put away my favorites that he wore but also sad to put away the things he didn't wear because he never got to wear them and he never will! lol! It felt good to get it done, though. I desperately need to do it again, though!
