I've been wracking my brain for the last, ooo, week or so for tips I can pass on to other moms. Missy at It's Almost Naptime is hosting a little mom-to-mom time, you see! I was one of those new moms who knew NOTHIN' 'bout birthin' no babies (where is that line from?) and I had to learn it all from scratch. You need to put mittens on before jackets, you know, because otherwise the mitten cuffs aren't covered. I didn't know that.
White tights are great for little boys to wear on cold days under their pants for an extra layer of warmth without bulk or girlishness.
You can gain an extra 45 minutes by keeping something fun to eat in a little self-feeding bag (they are about $3 and consist of a mesh bag with an attached handle) and giving it to your baby. That's dishes, and a shower, and maybe a meal.
'Forbidden' items, like the phone or the remote control, are powerful attention grabbers. My wiggly one, who hates being changed, gets to hold an old remote (with the batteries out, of course) as long as he lies still. Great for getting them in snowsuits, too.
Any hints or tips you'd like to share?

I love that you put white tights on your son! In Israel (where I live) all boys and girls wear tights in winter (and snowsuits!) no matter how cold it is. which, for the record, isn't so cold. maybe down in the 50's. The tights we use are the knitted kind and work really well for keeping extra warm. You can also get light blue and black for boys.
Your quote is from Gone With the Wind, by the way.
Well now I know that online Israeli stores are the place to go for tights! And thank you for the Gone With The Wind reminder...that has just been bothering me for DAYS!
I put tights on my boys too. I even used them a few times so that they could wear a cute short-legged outfit, that was otherwise too cold for winter but was going to be too small by the summer. They are also very useful for little ones that won't keep their socks on! They can tug till the things are hanging off the ends of their toes, but their feet will still be warm! However, not too long ago Morgan and I went looking for some for Paul and couldn't find any infant-sized ones.

Email me and I'll mail you some. They're really easy to come by in all sizes here. 100% polyester, though, not cotton.
