Our exciting news

So, I know tha after you ready my last post you were all like, "Ohmigosh WHAT is her exciting good news??"  And now I can tell you.

We're moving!

Seriously, it is time.  Seriously.  Let me tell you what our apartment currently looks like.  To start with, it's an apartment.  And not a nice one.  You walk in the front door and up a big set of stairs.  So there's nowhere to put a stroller, nowhere to hang a coat, and nowhere to put the mail, your shoes, your keys, or a crying baby.  The whole place is carpeted - and I don't need to tell you what that means in feeding a toddler.  There are three 'bedrooms', but in reality only two are actually bedrooms because the third doesn't have a window and is the size of maybe two closets.  The kitchen is narrow and if you open the fridge, no one can pass you.  It also houses the washer and dryer.  And if you open the dryer you can't open the oven.  If you open the washer you can open the top cupboard.  If you open the bottom cupboard you can't open the fridge and if you try and figure out what that means the layout looks like it will drive you crazy.

There is no backyard.  This is a big one for me.  The bathroom has mildew that won't come off.  Everyone but us in the building smokes and you can tell.  It's just, it's just time.

So, now we have a house!  It's got three bedrooms, one and a half baths, a livingroom, a proper dining room, a kitchen, a backyard with a deck and a clothesline and grass!  It has a driveway, and a basement and a linen closet.  Oh heavens can I tell you how excited I am to have a linen closet?  And our children will have a lot of room to grow, which is good news, because these children seem to need a lot of room!

And because we never seem to do things halfway...

We're getting a car!

Oy vey life is thrilling, isn't it?  I am adamently 'non-car' for the most part.  I don't want to drive one, own one, ride in one or insure one.  But, again, we have children.  So when a good (read: absolutely amazing) opportunity to own a car came up, we decided to take it.  And it will be ours in a few weeks,  Just in time to park it in our driveway.

'Cause we have a driveway now.

And the packing is going to kill me.

This IS exciting news, Amy. You're going to LOVE having the extra space. You'll have to post pictures so I/we can imagine you in your new place. ('Cause it's all about us, you know.) Yes, the packing will be tiring, but it will be worth it. Then - let the nesting begin! (and the motoring!)
