Yesterday was a busy guest day, as I mentioned, but also it culminated in a trip to the emergency room for David and I in an attempt to diagnose a sharp stomach pain I had started in the afternoon that lasted all evening and into the night. It wasn't labour, and felt nothing like contractions, not that the doctors and nurses listened to me. A note: if you go into an ER, claim stomach pain, and declare that you are 9 days overdue but that you know this isn't labour...they have stopped listening.
After dealing with the usual etc. etc.s I was told that my cervix was 'thinning but not dilated'. So, since I was 1cm dilated last time I was checked, apparently I am MOVING BACKWARDS IN LABOUR. Good grief.
And the pain? "Might be my gall bladder" according to Dr. No Hope. So I got to spend today eating bland foods. Like steamed steam. And dried air biscuits. With dust.
Anyway, since I'm 10 days overdue today, that means that tomorrow is the big day to go in to see the OB for my final appt. And for this momentous occasion I'm getting my membranes swept, which sounds about as pleasant as I imagine it will be. Seriously, I have never heard anything nice about the procedure.
I'm going to distract myself from it tomorrow by scrubbing under my kitchen sink.
