If we have not genuine grace in the family circle, all our outward and public plausibility merely springs from a fear of the world or from the slimy, putrid pool of our own selfishness. I tell you the home is a mighty test of character. What you are at home you are everywhere, whether you demonstrate it or not. -TALMAGE

We ate strawberry milkshakes for 'lunch/supper' today. It was not a cooking day. I also informed David that he needed to 'pick up a large enough piece of meat that it would feed us for several days' at the grocery store. Not meals, days. Because I'm going to cook it once, and then I'm going to put it in the fridge where it will remain our sole source of protein until I feel like facing the arduous task of producing any other food for anyone. Which is also my reasoning behind such statements as: "No, no, I mean get the club sized bag of frozen mixed vegetables. And make sure it's a kind you reeeeeeaaaaaly like."
