A $4 Valance

You need: A piece of hemmed fabric twice as wide as the window.  I found this piece, clearly the hemmed top of a sheet, at a local thrift store for three dollars.

Samuel's window had a blue blind on it, but nothing else until the valance.

Carefully pin the end outside of the window frame using tacks.  Then simply pleat and pin every few inches, making the pleats roughly equal in size and ending with a pin outside of the frame on the other end.


I used coloured flat pushpins - a box for $1 at the Dollar Store.
